Omaggio ai caduti

Alcuni mesi fa il passaggio di una forte tromba d’aria ha abbattuto decine di alberi, lasciando dietro di sé un ambiente sospeso e carico di tensioni. “Omaggio ai caduti” è una pratica di ascolto e di attenzione, con e su gli alberi caduti, e in generale sulle fragilità e sulle forme di persistenza della vita. È una forma di cura che sta nella ritualità dei momenti, nell’intimità, nella ripetizione dei gesti. “Omaggio ai caduti” è anche la circostanza in cui esporre, come sintesi e formalizzazione del processo, alcuni lavori artistici realizzati in questo periodo.

The rope drawing is based on the locations of the fallen trees, indicated on the map. Using the rope I connect the trees. This creates a closed form, a polygon.
The rope drawing can be associated with the constellations, starry sky map, carta stellate, reminding me of the story Cesare told the evening at the star fire place made by Letizia and Violette.
The fluorescent rope I had with me. The blue tape I found at the house and is something I have used before.

Blue paint

The bark of the dead tree stump has been stripped off, the bare wood is visible. The tree stump was trimmed to specified height. Light blue paint has been applied to the sanded surface at the top of the tree stump. The light blue circular surface vibrates in the sunlight. The application of a colored protective layer to pruned trees is a common use in southern countries. Here the colorful layer gives the dead tree new life.
Because of the location of the art piece, the tree stumps also function as columns, a kind of gate to the star fire place of Calori & Maillard and form a connection with the lane with fallen trees.
